“Chiefs prop Arizona (Sona) Taumalolo has been found guilty of a dangerous tackle during the Super 14 Chiefs v Reds match at Waikato Stadium, in Hamilton, on Friday 5 March 2010.

Taumalolo was cited by SANZAR Citing Commissioner Steve Hinds for a dangerous tackle on Reds first-five eighth Quade Cooper, 11 minutes into the first half of the game.

Judicial Officer Peter Hobbs today considered evidence from the player, video recordings, and heard submissions from Taumalolo’s representative.

As a result, Mr Hobbs deemed that while Taumalolo’s tackle breached the laws of the game, his overall culpability did not warrant any further penalty in this case.”
